The Direct build checks the current channel for new versions: after you confirm, DeskBox saves settings and exits, an updater helper installs the new version and restarts — and a recovery point is created first to protect your settings.
Failed downloads can be retried or continued from the website; if an install does not finish, the current version is kept. The Microsoft Store version updates through the Store.
