Collect widgets move dragged files into a real storage folder — best for temporary files piling up on the desktop. Mapped folder widgets simply show an existing folder (a project directory, your downloads) on the desktop without moving anything.
Files in both widget types open, copy, rename and delete normally; Explorer sees the exact same files.
